For my more personal work (my girlfriend and travel photos) I guess I'm inspired by a Braziliian photographer, Marcelo Gomes. I love his first book: marcelogomesphoto.com/loveandbefore/

Nan Goldin was an obvious inspiration when I started doing this as well, though I'm miles away from all her intensity and drama and beauty.

Also, I like the Nouvelle Vague films a lot, specially Godard, Truffaut and Eric Rohmer.

For my street work, I learned a lot from Carlos Moreira, with whom I studied in Sao Paulo, and also names like Saul Leiter, Harry Gruyaert, Georgui Pinkhassov, Boris Savelev and Alex Webb. Light in their photos are always outstanding.

In literature, Italo Calvino is very inspiring when he speaks about the cities. I love the light in Tarkovsky's movies as well, but is hard to find a similar light in our sunny Brazil.
